HDP Datça District Chairman Lawyer Günfer Karadeniz requested the review of the matter and the cancellation of the elections in Gölcük Neighbourhood of Hilvan district by claiming that the votes of about 200 people whose voter records are in Gölcük Neighbourhood of Hilvan district, Şanlıurfa, were used by others even though they were in Datça on the day of referendum. Günfer Karadeniz submitted the petition appeal to the Datça District Election Board with the request to be conveyed to the Supreme Election Board. Karadeniz in her statements she made at the courthouse, said: “It is seen that the votes of about 200 people working as seasonal workers in Datça were used even though they did not go to Şanlıurfa. We learned that the votes of all of the voters were used in the two ballot boxes in the Gölcük Neighborhood where the voting registrations of the mentioned people are in. We added to our petition appeal a list of names of 80 people we could identify that they were in Datça on the day of the referendum. These people have been living in Datça and they have never gone to their villages. But it seems that their votes were used there. And since all the voters in both ballot boxes used their votes, it is understood that the votes of these people were used there by someone elses.”
Aziz Akbalık, 32, who said that he personally knew the people who came to Datça from Gölcük Neighbourhood of Hilvan district, Şanlıurfa, as seasonal workers, said in a statement he made about the subject, “I, myself, am also from Hilvan. Most of these people are my relatives and now they live in Datça. There are two ballot boxes in Gölcük Neighborhood. As far as I’ve learned, all the villagers had agreed to vote ‘Yes’ in exchange for a condolence house in Gölcük. But the votes of 200 people living in Datça were also thrown to the ballot boxes as if they are there. We have identified the names of 80 people so far. I want the matter be investigated and uncovered”.
