Hayrettin Karaman, who has previously said: ”After the referendum we will let the “no” voters live,” declared: “that anything that will bring us closer to our goal, any yes vote that will help us reach our goal, is our obligation (Karaman used “farz” which means is “a must to do” in Islam if a muslim).
In his article entitled: “What are we voting” Karaman shares the following:
“People are talking like there is a constitution right now and that we don’t have problems caused by this broken constitution. They’re asking themselves why do we wanna change “this beautiful constitution.”
This is ridiculous.
Everyone was unsatisfied with the current constitution. One of the reasons for this was the bipolar executive which cause a lot of conflicts. They are afraid that if the referendum is won by the yes campaign, that Recep Tayyip Erdogan will become more powerful and efficient. That is why they are trying to stop the constitutional change at all costs.
Is it possible to reach this goal in one leap?
If it is not possible, would you rather make small, badly timed jumps or would you rather take a big, well-timed leap, to reach great lengths?
This is what we are voting for!
We are voting “yes” cause it will get us closer to our goal and anything that will get us closer to our goal we must do.
