MHP’s (The Nationalist Movement Party) Afyonkarahisar province administration was terminated by the decision taken at the party headquarters. MHP’s provincial chairman Raşit Demirel taken from the duty and city’s governing board fired by the official letter sent to provincial head. According to local press reports in Afyonkarahisar, Raşit Demirel stated his opinion in a conversation on the ‘presidential amendments’ which were agreed upon by the AKP and the MHP. Currently 5 of 18 articles have been passed at the Turkish Parliament. Demirel and his administration dismissed from their post after declaring his (unfavorable) opinion on the constitutional changes.
ANOTHER “PRESIDENCY” RESİGNATİON IN MHP ANKARA
MHP’s Ankara Provincial vice-chairman Özgür Işık resigned from his party after criticizing his party’s stance in the amendment of the constitution with harsh words. Işık, stated that MHP previously was against the ‘presidential system’, “whatever would be the name of the constitutional amendment, MHP’s approval, has opened a very deep wound in the heart of idealistic movement’s members.” he said adding, “Our ideas that stand against this proposal up until yesterday, have not been understood how changed today.
